01 instant curing, speed up production.
One of the core advantages of UV hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive is instant curing under ultraviolet light. Different from rubber-based hot melt adhesive which needs to be heated and then cooled, and water-based/solvent-based adhesive needs to be dried, it can be cured within one second after being coated with compact UV equipment.
Instant curing can greatly shorten the total processing time of coiled material, adapt to high-speed production, effectively reduce the inventory of products in process, and minimize the generation of waste when it is abnormal. The coiled material does not need long-term drying or multiple cold rolls, and the processor can quickly evaluate the performance of the finished product, further reducing product waste.
Because there is no need to evaporate water or solvent, it completely saves high energy consumption hot oven, oxidant and afterburner needed for solvent glue. Reduce energy consumption and application temperature
Rubber-based hot melt adhesive has a high melting temperature, and water-based and solvent-based adhesives rely on high-temperature and high-energy drying equipment, so heating, cooling and solvent evaporation all require a lot of energy. In recent years, the rising global energy costs, tight supply and new emission regulations have pushed enterprises to seek better solutions, and UV hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive is an ideal substitute-no large-scale high-energy dryer, no natural gas consumption and lower melting temperature.
It is a thermal dryer with 100% solid content, no water or solvent carrier, no need for long-term heating, easy to emit heat, and will not increase the temperature control burden of the factory. Its melting coating temperature is only 120-140℃, which is much lower than the 150-175℃ of rubber-based hot melt adhesive, so the operation is safer. And through cross-linking and curing, the traditional hot melt adhesive does not need heat setting, and a cold roller for cooling the adhesive layer and the base material after coating is omitted, so that the whole process is more energy-saving.
Low temperature operation makes the power consumption of platen glue machine, glue box and heating hose lower, and natural gas consumption is saved without dryer. At the same time, low temperature can reduce equipment wear, prolong the service life of machinery, reduce maintenance costs and create a safer working environment.
Excellent adhesive strength and durability
UV hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive has the same strong and lasting adhesion as solvent-based adhesive, which can ensure the long-term and stable adhesion of materials in various environments. The unique chemical reaction during curing forms a stable molecular structure, which greatly improves the heat resistance, moisture resistance and mechanical stress resistance. Unlike rubber-based and water-based adhesives, which are easily attenuated by environmental influences, they can still maintain structural integrity under extreme conditions.
The durability of UV acrylic hot melt adhesive is better than that of rubber-based and water-based adhesives, which helps processors to expand high-demand markets. Its unique advantages are: increasing UV exposure can reduce viscosity and increase shear force; When the exposure is reduced, the viscosity increases and the shear force decreases. Only by adjusting the UV output, the processor can achieve a wider performance adaptation with fewer rubber SKUs.
Although the performance is not completely beyond the top solvent-based adhesive, it is highly close. Under the multiple pressures of reducing cost, improving efficiency and ensuring performance, transforming the existing production line to produce UV hot melt adhesive products has become a high-quality solution to replace solvent-based adhesive processing with low and medium requirements.
Environmental protection and harmless discharge
Environmental protection is the highlight of UV hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive. Although the production process is similar to solvent-based adhesive, its solvent has been removed and recovered at the adhesive production end, and then transported to the coating plant; However, the solvent of solvent-based adhesive needs to be transported with the product and evaporated and burned on site after coating, which not only pollutes the environment but also has potential safety hazards. UV hot melt adhesive can prevent solvent volatilization from the source, and has no harmful emission, which is more in line with environmental protection requirements.
High cost-effectiveness, less material waste.
Switching to UV hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive can effectively reduce operating costs and reduce material waste. Its melting point is lower than that of rubber-based hot melt adhesive, and there is no need for drying process, which saves energy expenditure for a long time; Instant curing features improve production efficiency without long waiting period.
Because there is no water or solvent carrier, the consumption of packaging barrels and storage tanks is reduced, which directly reduces the transportation and storage costs. In the face of increasingly strict emission regulations, it is the first choice for compliance; Moreover, the production line does not need a large tunnel dryer and an additional ventilation system, and the floor space is smaller, which can reduce the operating cost of the factory building.

Compared with solvent-based adhesives, the core advantage of UV hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesives is that the solvent can be stripped and recycled in the production process and recycled for the next batch of production.
